hepkhat
Hey I was seeing if anyone knew of a quality, preferably cheap Subaru mechanic in Portland? I'm in need of timing belt/water pump and routine maintenance.
ShawnW
I believe Richies shop is Superior Import and repair but to be sure PM or email the user "RichieRich". Hes a long time USMB member and works in a shop run by himself and his dad a former master technician.

It's good knowledge, a great feeling of accomplishment, and saves you money. Here's the belt procedure. The engine doesn't have to be out of the car. Spiffy
I believe Richies shop is Superior Import and repair but to be sure PM or email the user "RichieRich". Hes a long time USMB member and works in a shop run by himself and his dad a former master technician. I go to Richie for everything... they were having a special on timing belts recently, but it might be over by now... he's up on NE 82nd and Prescott... 503-288-8634... these subarus really are easy to work on, but sometimes I'm just lazy, or don't have the time... or I do most of the work and something still isn't quite right and I take it there to have him figure it out... I don't mind banging away on my older subies, but with the forester I almost always take it in... at least until I get better... --Spiffy
ferox
+1 On Richie's shop. The only problem is that they have such a good rep. that sometimes they can get stacked up. They're fast, but Portland has a lot of subaru owners. Even if you do the work yourself you can get parts through them. I get almost all my parts there even though I now live about 35 miles away. He'll give you a good price, good advice, and you know you are getting the correct part.
