markjw
I found a 1985 EA82 body style car today that has a Hydro lifter, ea81 engine in it. Its a 5 speed, dual range 4wd. It looks totally stock, too. I did a search on the board and came up with not much except it probably wasn't a USA market car. Anyone have any ideas as to where they were originally sold? GeneralDisorder
Tons of places - everywhere from Isreal to Barbados to the Netherlands.... Usually it was the EA71's that got put into the EA82 body though, not the EA81. I say it was most likely a swap. There's ways to tell, but they are difficult to explain. I'm sure if I saw it in person I could tell withing a few minutes if it was stock in that car or not. Also if it wasn't a US car it would be labled as a Leone rather than a GL/DL. It was definitly an ea81 thou. It had a very diffrent air filter housing on it. I'm gonna go look at it closer tomorrow.
