OB99W
Just to provide some background of the Toyota/FHI relationship: http://www.japancorp.net/article.asp?Art_ID=15930
crazyhorse001
Toyota Celica STI anyone? I wonder how this will affect the WRC programs of the two. Can Subaru, and Toyota both be allowed the same powertrain? What I'm looking forward to, is a Boxer/Hybrid Maybe in a Legacy or Outback.

OB99W
Will they call it a Toybaru?Perhaps -- after all, "Subota" could be confused with the tractor manufacturer (Kubota).

JT95
They emphasized that the 300hp model was "four wheel drive"--would that indicate that the base 200hp car is 2WD? Would that make it FWD, as the 2WD Subes used to be, or would they stick all the power to the rear wheels, as a true 2WD sports car should be? That's an interesting tidbit of info. I was reading recently how Toyota picked up some of the Subaru share when GM bailed and that there's a good chance that in the future Subaru will become another division of Toyota. Be curious to see how that plays out...

Subaru also picks up Toyo technical expertise. This is why you may shortly see a subaru hybrid. nipper
ferret
That's the plant where the Imprezas ( and all based on them ) / Foresters are built. Love the names. I remember when GM/Toyota had their deal. The Corolla / Chevy Nova both came down the same assembly line in Calif. When it debuted, Motor Trend called it the Toyo-Let ( instead of the Chev-ota ).
