RMVR53
ok its not anywhere close to new but what the heck.... I'm looking at a 93 AWD Turbo Legacy sedan. Great shape but toasted engine. I found a Legacy L (non-turbo) wrecked but a good engine. Can I swap it out under the turbo stuff? Bill
bheinen74
hold on a sec on getting another engine. What is wrong with the current block first? You do know that is the Best Block subaru ever made, period. If it has a hole in it, then yeah...but it could just need seals, bearings, etc. Would be wiser to fix that block if it can be done. the folks over at http://bbs.legacycentral.org/ will be glad to help you decide this one. Since I can get the "L" motor for $150 I didn't figure it was worth messin with if it was a viable swap Bill
bheinen74
yes you can swap the blocks, but the heads, water pump, exhaust stuff, and intake/injectors you have to keep from the turbo motor. but you need to get over to legacycentral before you go this route. the turbo block is "gold" and the non turbo block is "salt"
ericem
I think you can just swap over all the stock like heads and alll good internals and make a non turbo ej22 into a turbo motor. Just don't run high boost.
