tjdrury
Hey all, Just got back from a test drive after putting on adjustable front struts. What a bummer! The car acts like it's on sand or ice on turns. One wheel or the other seems to not be getting traction and causes a jerking motion under med. to hard power during the turn. Anyone experience this problem? The struts are questionable junk yard units. Could this be the cause of the "stuttering" around corners? Thanks for any help you can give,
subarubrat
Were the strut shafts able to travel in and out with firm pressure or were they frozen, or loose? Are your top and bottom mounting bolts secure? You mentioned these are adjustable, did you crank them all the way up? If so , your camber may be way off and that can hurt handeling. myossfeece
Milesfox had the same trouble with his lifted trashwagon. He had a 6 inch body lift on front and rear and it handled dooky. My opinion was he lost his "SUBARU" low center of gravity.
MilesFox
mine had a tendency to pull one way or the other. it was a loose crossmember mount, and my modified strut caps were not tight enough. did you get enough offset on the strut camber? tjdrury
The struts seemed to be in good working order, all of the fasteners are tight and the offset is from a PK davis BYB strut top lift mount. The camber does seem to be much more pronounced with the adjusters all the way out. That is the only visable difference to the car since the switch. I wonder if the contact patch of the tire is that much worse in turns with the increased camber. I'll keep tinkering. Thanks,
