Rooinater
pick a line, draw a line or wing it... zzz zzz draw a line which vehicle are you cutting up the fenders? ea81 or ea82? just enough to clear the tires or to clearance the path in front of the tire. there's a lot of over hanging in front of the tire that you do not need if your out wheeling. used to have pics on my site, but forgot to pay the bill and lost the site. ivantruckman
some pics of my cut job... http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg137/ivantruckman/?action=view¤t=fendercut.jpg i made a cut along the upper fender arch line, leaving enough material to weld to, about 1/4 inch ..do not cut thru the inner fender , you will need this later to curl upwards , and to weld together, you can use a pnumatic muffler tool. harbor freight has them for under 20 bucks http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg137/ivantruckman/?action=view¤t=fendercut2.jpg you can use the material from the inner fender , hammering it upward http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg137/ivantruckman/?action=view¤t=fenderhamer.jpg then tack weld it, grind it down ,than putty it in http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg137/ivantruckman/?action=view¤t=PICT0033.jpg i did the front too but theirs no inner fender to weld too. i just used a peice of 1/2 inch round stock and hammered it around, and streched it a little http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg137/ivantruckman/?action=view¤t=frontfender.jpg

Phizinza
My write up when I cut my old fenders to fit the 27" M/T's with 2" lift. It was neat and easy, thats why I done it like this http://offroadingsubarus.com/fenders.html
ivantruckman
because of the rust i had little choice, i also needed to trim the lower rear door, im using a flat camo sceme for paint too, its alot more forgiving than a normal paint job
WoodsWagon
You can do what I did after cutting them: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=84776 Worked out pretty good. I should take new pictures.
one eye
I just got real drunk and fired up the die grinder I cut right along the lines where the fender flares out in the front and in the back I trimed the edges. I would recomend not getting to drunk to do it cause you might think the next day you went a little to far. Not only that I fit 30x9.50x15's on it without a lift This was before the lift And after Jeff
