TheSubaruJunkie
What can i do to loosen up my clutch peddle on my '84 Wagon? After the lift, it seems like after the lift the clutch has become ALOT stiffer. The other day, i think i bent something in the peddle assembly, or maybe the cable is failing... but i lost all clutch capabliity's, had to hold the peddle to the floor just to be able to force the car in gear. I tightened the cable as much as posslbe, and it made it alittle easier to shift gears, but it was getting harder and harder the more i drove. Has anybody here ever pondered the idea of a hydrolic clutch conversion? -Brian
GeneralDisorder
Sounds like your cable is about to fail - had that happen to me. First it got a little loose and I tightened it - then it broke in half. Is your cable running over or under the steering linkage - it's supposed to run under. Over will cause premature wear and failure. GD
TheSubaruJunkie
Its running the correct way, i think your right. Seems like it wanted to fail the entire trip back. I will have to go get a new one. Been looking at hydrolic conversions, but looks like it wont be easy, expecially with the Subaru's Pull clutch VS. most jeep and yota's Push clutch. -Brian
NV Zeno
That's what clutch cables did for me just before failure, several different cars (Ford, Subaru, etc.).
