Meeky Moose
well, this car i'm pickin up has an auto tranny.. the guy says the tranny is bad.. he did say that when its cold you can feel it trying to pull, but it won't really move.. what could be wrong with it? the car is an 88' 2wd gl wagon spfi its not of big concern because its getting a 5-speed swap but was just curious about the auto tranny if it was fixable fairly easy or not.. Dennis ex24
vacuum modulator sounds like its out to lunch pour some trans fluid into the dipstick and see if white smoke blows out of the exhaust afterwards. this is maybe a 5-10min job if this is the case. while youre at it, pull the gov. gear out of the side of the trans and clean it up. TROGDOR!
Check the fluid level first, if the fluid is low enough it will make the trans seem like it's always in neutral.
