subaru86
I'm looking for rear shocks for a 1986 4WD GL wagon, EA82. Are any available that have the tab on the side that allows for ground clearance adjustment? The photos of KYB and Monroe replacement shocks for 4WD seem to show the 2WD style fixed spring seat. Any info is appreciated.

Numbchux
yea, most companies have superceded the '87+ EA82 part numbers instead of the '85-'86 adjustable ones. 4WD ones will sit the same as the middle setting. and FWD ones will sit the same as the tallest setting. subaru86
Thanks, guys. I measured rear struts in some 91 Loyales, 2WD and 4WD. The 4WD were 19 1/8" total length, the same as the ones on my 86 GL, though the bottom nut to springseat length was 1/4" less than the lowest tab on mine. The 2WD Loyale was 19 1/2" long, with bottom nut to springseat distance 1/2" longer than the 4WD Loyale. I guess we'll try and see. May have to wait til next week to do it.
