beans
Hey, newbie here,I've got a vacuum hose comng off of the airbox of my '86 EA82 carb. Can't tell for the life of me where it should go, dug thru the vac diagrams and the tech manual and can't trace it down. In the pics, it is the hose with the duct tape over the end. Thanks for any help, hoping this helps to take care of the egr light getting thrownhttp://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=19994&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=13671and http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=19993&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=13671 are the pictures. [HTi]Johnson
I can tell you that that doesn't have much to do with the EGR. The EGR is a little saucer shaped object that is attached under the carb on the back side of the manifold, with a little vac line going to it and a metal tube with a thread fitting. GeneralDisorder
That hose doesn't go to anything. It's supposed to hang straight down without connection. You'll notice there is no mark from a clamp on it.... EGR light is mileage controlled via a trip inside the guage cluster. Every 60,000 miles you have to swap a set of connectors under the dash to "reset" it. They are blue or green, or blueish green.... or something. Just look and you'll figure it out. And take the tape off the line - it's the PCV breather air inlet I beleive. There's a little white square filter element in the air-box up there near that "bump" that it's connected to. Gloyale
EGR light is mileage controlled via a trip inside the guage cluster. NOT the ones right under the steering column(which would be green, and only if you have 2wd or Cali car w/ Feedback carb and ECU) Remove the COver for the fuse box. Now undo the 4 screws holding the corners of the fuse box. Now you can pull that fuse box forward. Look behind and to the left of where the fuse box was. you should see a total of 3 single pole connectors, 2 of which are plugged to each other and a third hanging. Disconnect the ones that are hooked up, and connect the previously unused one instead. Also untape that hose and point it down toward the block. That is how it is supposed to be.
