GeneralDisorder
so my 83 would be glued on? Which trim? There's about 3 different styles and it varies according to year. A picture would be most helpful. '85 and later has nothing to do with your 83. GD

GeneralDisorder
Johnson']Yeah' date=' every ea81 trim piece, I've seen has clips that are screwed into the body.[/quote'] The upper thin strip is sometimes glued, and sometimes screwed. The lower black/chrome strip is always held on by clips that "snap" into holes in the door panels - they are never screwed. Then you have the wider cladding that was sometimes added to the bottom of the doors, etc. That stuff is usually glued, but I've seen some that were riveted - it was often applied by the dealer so there's no one answer for these. Durania
Thats funny this was brought up. The piece in front of the door in my 83 Brat as clipped on while on my 84 hatch it was glued on. That stuff is a pain to get out of the trim pieces.
audio_file
i've wondered the same thing, and then helped tear apart a few gen 2's, i used them as a guinea pig to find out how interior/exterior bits were attached, +1 that the "main" trim is held to the door with slide clips that pop into holes in the door, but in just about every car i've torn into, some kind of glue/tape was used as well . . . so the answer i've seen would be . . . both
MilesFox
i was referring to ea82 models
