trikerbob
Can anyone tell me if the intake manafold off the EA81 motor will bolt up on the EA82 motor? Thanks, Bob:confused:
hatchsub
yes it will. Coolant hookup is on the back rather than on the front but other than that they line up the same.
MilesFox
you will want to carryover the ea81 upper radiator hose to go with to reach the radiator
trikerbob
you will want to carryover the ea81 upper radiator hose to go with to reach the radiator Thannks guys, the radiator hook up wouldn't be an issue in my case as it would be for a Trike and radiators wouldn't be in the same location anyway. Thanks. Bob:banana:
GeneralDisorder
The EA81 intake doesn't flow as well as the EA82, and the carb base is different. GD
TomRhere
Here's a shot of the difference in size of the carb ports of the manifolds. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c264/TomRhere/Weber%20swap%20on%20EA-81%20engine/EA-81EA-82Manifold2.jpg
BobBrumby
When I did mine a tiny ammount of the altinator bracket hangs up on the underside of the carb base. Just cut off this corner, you will see what I mean, I used a dremel and did it with the bracket still bolted to motor. Also the barb for disty vac adance has to be bent slightly to clear the thermostat housing.

trikerbob
You're being alwfully quiet. What are you up too? Just saw the intake manafold on Ebay for the EA81 and thought it might be good to have on hand, but I really don't need it as I still have an extra EA82 manafold on hand. The photo you posted, is that a manafold for a Duel port EA82? I would be interested in finding one of those if thats what it is. Looks like that could be machined to fit a Weber carb and not have to use a computer or other wireing. Looks like it would work for my Trike motors. Since I have a pair of duel port heads and an extra high lift cam setup on hand, a duel port manafold fitted to take a Weber 32/36 would be just the ticket. Durania
Remember to replace intake gaskets with OEM, they're worth the extra price.

trikerbob
Hey Bob, That manifold in the photo is EA-82T. Nods head on the rest. Doug Thanks, does anyone have a good photo of a duel port EA82 non turbo manafold? Bob
Gloyale
Thanks, does anyone have a good photo of a duel port EA82 non turbo manafold? Bob It is excactly the same casting, without the extra coolant line installed. Turbo could be adapted to Non-Turbo or vice-verse. The other type is the "Spyder" intakes that came on the XT MPFI engines. Spyder intake is alot more like an EJ intake with curved runners and a side mounted Throttle body. ausubaru92
Remember that the EA82 MPFi & Turbo (dual intake) manifold will not fit an EA81, it only fits EA82 MPFI/Turbo heads
Quidam
Thanks, does anyone have a good photo of a duel port EA82 non turbo manafold? Bob Hi Bob, You're welcome. Pictures of EA-82 MPFI intakes are around. Some posted recently. Here's a pic I have on hand. '86 EA-82T MPFI. Doug
