Durania Posted April 13, 2008 Share Posted April 13, 2008 Sometimes when I pump the gas to get the choke to set, it sometimes causes the secondary to open up and stick on my Brat causing it to rev really high. I in turn, have to get out and push it closed to knock the idle back down. What can I do to keep it from doing this, it has done it since day 1 but only sticks every so often. TomRhere Posted April 13, 2008 Share Posted April 13, 2008 Two things I can think of that might cause the problem. To much travel of the linkage when you floor the pedal to set the choke. Try adjusting the cable for a bit less movement by turning the adjusting nuts more towards the housing of the cable. A binding of the linkage for the choke and the bellcrank of the throttle cable. Mine did that when I first put the Weber on. Did you put any spacers on the throttle shaft between the Webers linkage and the bellcrank for the cable? That's where mine was binding. Easy, unhook it and go for a ride, if it sounds and drives differently (probably quieter and slower, especially at more than 50% throttle) you know it normally opens when hooked up.
