nw_david
so i snapped a timing belt yesterday, and am having some real troubles getting the cams correctly aligned to the crank. i've been doing the routine of: -distributor side cam pin straight up -put the crank to the whatever degrees of the timing -put that sides belt in -turn the crank over once, so the cam opposite -put the non-distributor side cam pin straight up -put in the belt no luck please help, what am i doing wrong? MilesFox
sounds like you are using the wrong mark. \use the ||| mark, not the 0 deg when lining up the crank itself
Gloyale
Yeah, you're using the wrong marks. Don't use the numbered TDC scale. Rotate the eninge clockwise another 90 degrees and you will see three lines Looks like this: l l l Use the center of those 3 lines as the mark.
