Im on the F Nasioc thing now. Just plain treated badly there and couldnt make a post car related that went anywhere....Im not a noob or an idiot, so Im trying to find a place that accepts people and can deal with the fact that new people on the site may actually know something too...

With that said, I own a 98 Impreza RS coupe. Was my 1st new car when I was 17. Ive owned it the whole time and been thru a nightmare with it. It had the DOHC 2.5L (yuck) and kept blowing head gaskets over and over. I swapped in the 02 US WRX motor about 7 years ago. I had it setup to run a standalone ecu (sds) but could never get it running right. The shop I took it to screwed me around, talked me into everything and then knew nothing about making it work. At that point in my life, I knew nothing about tuning a car, specially from scratch!! So the car had sat for a LONG time! I was just tired of the headaches and owned a couple other cars so I let the Subaru sit a bit. After turbo'ing a few NA cars and tuning them up, I felt a LOT more confident in this project.

This year my buddy's finally got me motivated to work on it again. I sent the car to Rallispec in NJ to get the wiring addressed. Ended up running the stock ECU and Im happy with it! All has been well since then :) I have about 15k on my swap, quite a few mods and LOTS of custom tuning. I ran a 13.0@106 with a stg2 map. Since then I have custom tuned it a LOT and feel I should run a 12.9 or 12.8 without issue! I plan on going back to the track this Friday night to confirm it!

I also just bought a 20g, fmic and some other goodies to try and reach 11's in street form. Pull in, run 11's....Thats the idea anyway. 11.99 is PLENTY acceptable for me! LOL!

Here's some pics, take it easy on me....Car looks rough, again I owned it at 17. It needs a new paintjob and some rims, otherwise its set! I plan on painting it Brilliant Red again, the whole thing red, no white crap....

Welcome to the USMB Nick . . . anybody that can be part of makin' a yaris look reasonably good deserves some respect

no judgment here, just a lot of really cool, really real (my gr8 engrish shines through), and experienced folks. as long as somebody doesn't log in with a chip on their shoulder, they aren't going to have one when the log off!!

:headbang:

I like that!!!

I got almost banned for offering help with tuning someone's car. Is that illegal here? Im on a few other forums and that kinda stuff does NOT happen. I thought the idea was a community :)

98EJ20, can't you just do a search and quit bothering us!

Seriously, when I first registered on the predecessor to that other forum, it was a good, helpful place. Now it seems that every other question (especially maintenance and service questions) is answered with "do a search". May get you an answer sometimes, but not very helpful, unlike this forum.

To quote aircraft engineer: "offer help? nah we shoot yah for NOT offering help."

Welcome to USMB
