subaru_noob
but not omg i hear you from 4 blocks away at 3 am honda civic loud. you know i've thought about throwing a cannon on just to see what it would sound like on my '83 wagon i've also considered getting a cherry bomb glass pack. but i would imagine that a flowmaster or anything similar would sound decent. have you thought about going straight-pipe or would you not be able to pass emissions? Numbchux
the "cherry bomb" glasspacks usually sound like crap. but a nice Thrush glasspack. sounds pretty decent in place of the stock muffler.
hatchsub
I have a dynomax super turbo muffler and it sounds good. Nice and quiet at idle and then when you get on it...its loud.
idosubaru
dynomax mufflers are nice. not too loud, do the trick, and sound nice. a number of us on the xt forums have them in our XT6's. +mpg highway driving in an XT6 too!
cobcob
I've got a Dynomax/Thrush Mini Turbo sitting in the garage. Can't decide if it's going on the Brat or on the '88 wagon
86HatchShelby
we dont have emissions up here so i took a hack saw to my muffler:grin:
3eyedwagon
the "cherry bomb" glasspacks usually sound like crap. HOW DARE YOU! Cherry Bombs are an institution! Take it BACK!!!
The Dude Abides
It depends on what you want i guess. My muffler rotted off and i havent replaced it yet. It doesnt sound bad but id rather have it sound quiet at this point in my life. it isnt a sports car. Ben
audio_file
i put a bosal "brospeed" flow thru muffler on my 87 wagon, kept 1 cat (at the y pipe) and it has a very mellow throbbing STI-ish sound to it. i love it, the XT6 i just bought has a flowmaster on it, and i don't like it nearly as much, doesn't give you that signature soobie sound . . . my.02 chris
spokanesoob
i was thinking a dynomax 17702 it dosnt seem to be too expensive and sounds pretty good. i heard a GL carbie on youtube. i guess what im really lookin for is a muffler that produces a nice "boxer" Growl. loud is ok i guess. im still young haah
