noob2soob
So on my 81 DL it seems like anytime i take a turn on sit on a hill for too long my engine can't handle lower rpm's (anything below 1k) and it dies on me... now the sticker under the hood says the rpm's in idle should be at 700 +/- 100 rpm any clue on what it could be? oh and it doesn't hold a steady rpm at any time if that helps any..... Thanks on any info guys -AJ
spokanesoob
is your carb starving out? your carb might need to be cleaned and re-built. or just scrap it and get a weber.
GeneralDisorder
Vacuum leaks most likely. Some of them may require a carb rebuild. The throttle base shafts are probably worn and will need bushing. Spray around with carb cleaner till you encounter a spot that causes an increase or a steadying of the idle - there will be a leak near there.
