Aldoat
Can an EA81 and a 4spd D/R transmission be pulled from an 86 Brat as one unit?
GeneralDisorder
Could be I think - but it's not usually done that way. The main problem is the 4 spd D/R is very (VERY) long and would hang up on everything. Would be messier than splitting them. It's only 2 bolts and 2 nuts to split them apart. You would have to disconnect all the linkage, and drop the cross member for the tranny - remove the radiator and disconnect everything from the engine.... you would lose all the tranny fluid out the back of the tranny as soon as the driveline pulled free too - messy. Aldoat
Thanks GD. Was just wondering since it's been done with other makes. And that tranny being so long (which I forgot about), would make it more difficult.
moosens
Been done, not a problem with a rolling engine lift at all.Good to have 2 men there for that. When you lift it the weight makes it tip down anyways so it isn't really a problem.Take the radiator out first and take the hood off.
