mountaingoatgruff Posted May 18, 2008 Share Posted May 18, 2008 Yes smog is stupid, but emissions inspection isn't. i agree, i don't think they do it right that's all. if the ca gov't was actually interested in reducing emissions there would be thousands of electric cars on ca roads. instead they force us to spend hundreds of dollars complying with pointless regulations like those i'm faced with while trying to increase the efficiency of my engine and then they sit back and collect the taxes. if they cared about smog i wouln't be mummified in red tape right now. good luck, bacon! RdNkBrt Posted May 18, 2008 Share Posted May 18, 2008 for future ref. if you go to the yard off of the skyways and tell the big guy at the front what kind of cars you need parts from, he's really cool about keepin an eye out and holding them back from the crusher.....Also, there's a yard out off of the 5 that usually has a ton of soobs. if you call out there, they'll give you a good idea of what they have, and the guys there really only care about "hard core wheelin" of yota's et, so they give you the parts of soobs practically free.....i know that doesnt help now...... but it might at a later date... NuclearBacon Posted May 19, 2008 Author Share Posted May 19, 2008 those are both great ideas.... im going to be in the bay area all summer and i'm going to be hitting a few of my favorite yards... and they cycle through their stuff all the time.... i dont think it should be too much trouble to get my intake pipe... i hope... i wish they had a closed hood policy... as long as your car emits under the amount that is allowed... it should pass.... what a bunch of hooey. i still need that intake though... so if anyones got an extra one... hit me up.... j2coe Posted July 9, 2008 Share Posted July 9, 2008 I have ne of those if you still need it. looks like it has one crack in the small end that doesn't go past the clamp. I don't know if that will work in CA or if you can seal it on the inside with aluminum tape? let me know I'm planning to have a big garage clearing. mostly I hope people can cpme get things but if I can ship some smaller stuff and help out that's great too.
