kybishop
I just got this 1986 Subaru wagon (EA82) as some of you know who have been helping me out tremendously with information. Kudos and many thanks to you all. When I call NAPA to get parts, they want to know if it is overhead cam or valves and I know nothing about these engines at this point. EA82 does not mean anything to NAPA. What is the valve/cam setup for the EA82? All my vehicles prior have been Chrysler porducts with the exception of one VW. Numbchux
when they refer to the OHV engines, they're referring to the EA81s which have pushrods and one cam. the EA82s are OHC, having one cam in each head. with the exception of some interior bits and the carb setup, the parts are the same as later GLs and Loyales. and here in the US, the EA81s stopped in '88, so if you get parts for a '92 loyale, you won't have that overlap.......might help narrow it down.
