Fuel problem?

Recommended Posts

So...here's the scoop on my 1986 Turbo Wagon....

Did all new headgaskets, and other gaskets, such as intake, exhaust, turbo, etc.

Anyways....so tried to fire it up the other day, and no luck. getting fuel pass the fuel filter (the one in the engine bay) and everything.... so, replaced the fuel pressure regulator....and it started up, and ran...last night was good and stuff...then it started to sputter a little bit. but still ran.

This morning, I tried to take it to school. Got a mile away from home, and it started sputtering, and basically just died. So I pulled it to the side of the road. Then, It would barely start up, and then just die. I thought maybe it was out of gas, even though the digidash told me it was fine. Put gas in it...It won't even start now.

What the hellllll????? Any help?

fuel pump? you can plug a fuelpressure gauge to the hose into the filter and plug in the green test clips to cycle the fuel pump. test it there, then after the regulator(while running

the fuel pressure regulator is on the return side of the fuel injectors

Check you're rotor screw.

Check the MAF tube.

Check that fuel line is hooked to correct tube. Fuel line should NOT go to the pipe with the regulator on it. The regulator is on the return side of the injectors.

Another easy thing you can do is see if it will start when you spray some starter fluid into the intake. If it does then the fuel system has another problem. It may be a bad filter near the pump.
