DaBrizat
What-up Y'all, Man I love my BRAT. It always pleases, and never disappoints me. Just taking it out of storage again. Been driving my new 2007 MX-5 (Touring, PRHT) since March, and it really felt different: roomier, higher seat, WAY sloppier tranny, and much slower. But it still starts up nice (after charge), runs like a top. At times I've left my other cars sitting for a while (like a week or so), and they cough when started like they were in storage for years. But that dang BRAT CAN be in storage for years and still start-up and run lots better'n them other cars, and runs over our F-ed up roads much smoother than my Miata (no doubt due to taller tires and softer suspension), which transmits every bump up into my carcass thru me bum. About the sprayer mod., has anyone modified the sprayers so they produce more of a "schpritz" than a stream of fluid? Like maybe from a more modern 'Ru? What do you think? Durania
Its an interesting idea and thought of something similar last night when I went to get all the pollen off of mine. The nozzles are inside the cowl so I don't know of too many mods that could be done to it, besides maybe cutting some into the hood.
backwoodsboy
I dont have pics... but on my wagon, I got fed up with "straight streaming" the windshield... and changed out the factory nozzles for some made by GM *gasp!* Youll have to get a little creative (I used heavy gage mechanics wire and needle-nose pliers to get MINE to point straight) .... but the result was a nicely "misted" windshield of washer fluid. Durania
heck, i'm just happy mine work at all! :-\ As am I. On my hatch I modified them to spray a little higher by taking a screw driver and bending it back so it mas more of an angle on the spray to get it higher. bheinen74
i agree, the pattern when they do spray is less the perfect. -when i got my Brat, no spray. So I unclogged them with tiny fine wire made to unclog the crud build-up -they worked for a couple days then stopped -clogged again, and this time the washer pump and resevoir jug was full of crud too. apparently 22 years had done a number on the seal around the pump to the tank, and it was dissentegrating and clogging my nozzles. -fix, remove the old gasket, put in a similar rubber seal my dad had laying around. -no more clog, just piss poor pattern of spray hmm, this may be a worth while thing to mod.
