4WDFrenzy
Patrick, that sounds just like Psyko's engine in his XT-T. It went south last week sometime. But yours does sound a tad worse :-p It certainly sounds like a spun bearing, on both engines. Well, that certainly sucks. I suppose that I will get my rear in gear and start hunting for a new engine. Thank You very much for your input. Patrick
Sonicfrog
HEH! I was just about to post about the same thing, though mine doesn't sound nearly that bad. As many of you know, a couple of summers ago I fried the engine in Murphy, the $500 87 T-Wag. Well, It has made some noise ever since, and now the noise is getting worse, and since I just got my last student loan dispersment... FINALLY!!! ... I'm think I'm ready to replace the engine. I get my engines from a company called Attarco. I've had great luck with this company. They have used EA82T's listed for $325. I think I,m gonna get me one. The cheapest engine I found was about $800 with shipping to my driveway. Thanks for the info. Patrick

You can just have them stop a crate before it leaves the shores.

I'm on a little rock along the Ryukyu Island chain to the south of the mainland called Okinawa. Since I have been here, I have only laid eyes on 1 older model Subaru, and it was an SVX(don't know the year). I would've figured there would be a whole lot of older Subes here considering that the locals like to drive around older cars(mostly Toyotas and Nissans), but no dice. Sonicfrog
4WDF, did you get the engine problem resolved?
4WDFrenzy
4WDF, did you get the engine problem resolved? No, not yet. I'm looking into a few respective options, but nothing is rock solid yet unfortunately. More than likely I'll just wind up getting a "new to me," low mileage engine. Thanks for asking.
