Subaru_dude
EA82 4wd. I've been trying to install the rear swaybar for the past four days but it just doesn't seem to fit. Here's what I'm running into... I can only get the inner mounts to mount, but the outers just seem bent and don't fit very well. I've tried pulling the ends in with a ratchet-strap, but to no avail. I've also tried mounting one end and then the other, but then the insides are grossly out of line. I've tried several combinations and am not making any progress, it just seems like it's warped but it's identical to the one I have in storage (in appearance anyway). So here's my idea. Does the car have to be sitting on the ground to install the sway? I remember removing it was a real breeze but the car was sitting on the ground. Can't let it down yet, no rear brakes (waiting for a rear disc assembly). Anybody have any ideas? I honestly just can't get it on. Any help appreciated, thanks. Subaru_dude
'89 EA82 sedan, converting to 4wd D/R. Rear end came off of a GL-10 turbo touring wagon. Not sure about what sway it is.
tizzle
Its easier with the suspension compressed if I remember correctly. Can you put some jackstands under the hub or something like that to let the car down?
Turbone
I know I struggled to get my XT6 swaybar on my RX. I had it up on jackstands and used my floor jack to lift each hub. It was still a bear.
