Hendrik Posted May 15, 2008 Share Posted May 15, 2008 I already talked about this case in an earlier thread , http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=87795 , but since it became clear now , after some tanks of gasoline , that the failure was present much more time in the past. Even if it might be seldom with failing injectors , over the time I ownded the car , I spoiled quite an amount of mony in using too much gas , as well as for other parts. Hope that this info might help others.............. The impreza 1993 , awd, auto , 1,8 L , never was economically. But the last months where very bad , may be 10 miles per gallon. 10 thousend miles ago , I always had problems with long downhill trajects , one plug stopped working for cilinder1 . Renewed all electical ignition parts , filters etc. Became better , but not solved completely. Always at certain rpm's the engine seemed to run on 3 cilinders...especially without a certain load. Now everything is different , the engine runs smooth , no more black exhaust , the tank gauge does not seem to move anymore.. One injector never closed completely , and so it used exessive amounts of gas. The faulty injector did it ! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
