hatchsub
If that 79 isnt rotted out then yea id say thats a decent deal. Engine needs three things to run, fuel, spark, and air. Sounds to me like its not getting one of the first two.

subie94
gonna have to contact seller and arrange a time for me to drive up and look at it.roughly 2hr(highway) drive north.. other thing is,if i was to buy it and get it running..should i take a chance and drive it back home or have it towed.. :-\ i guess if i have a tow company on speed dial.. of course there's also this..not as old but is old school http://nh.craigslist.org/car/701486104.html cheaper,closer..says it's a 5spd(wonder if dual range, doesn't say)
Spiffy
other thing is,if i was to buy it and get it running..should i take a chance and drive it back home or have it towed.. drive it! or at least try... (: of course there's also this..not as old but is old schoolhttp://nh.craigslist.org/car/701486104.html cheaper,closer..says it's a 5spd(wonder if dual range, doesn't say) looks like it has the 4WD badge on the back, but as far as I know the Loyale only came in a push-button 4WD, not dual-range... I'll never own a Loyale again due to the lack of the little creature comforts (map/cargo lights, dead pedal, auto-seatbelts, etc)... seems that by that point they were trying to strip down the Loyale body style to make it unappealing so they could push the newer Legacy series... pretty ballsy putting their entire inventory on craigslist and linking it from their web site... that's likely to get them flagged off... --Spiffy
subaru360
The 79 looks nice. If it was automatic, I would consider it. My girlfriend wants a gen 1 or gen 2 4wd automatic wagon preferably with the plaid seats. I'm going to Maine next weekend too. Oh well.
SUBARU3
Gen 1 4WDs did not come in automatics......only 4 speeds. The Gen 1 automatics were all FWD. Todd

That explains why I've never seen one for sale. Maybe I will build one someday then.
