zukiru
like does a Phase II EJ25 have the cam cover/slot for a distributor? I am not wanting to use a distributor but a CAS for a DSM for megasuirt and spark.

Gloyale
Not as easy as the 2.2, but it might be doable. There is a plug at the rear of the head for Camshaft like the 2.2. Pull the cam retainer/rocker carrier assembly off the head and the plug should be free to come out. From there it's just a matter of finding a disty to fit, and a way to bolt it down. Probably require some machining/welding tabs to the head.
zukiru
thanks that's what I wanted to know.. I saw someone running a DSM CAS on another engine for MS-n-spark and it worked fine... my engine will be here end of the month. I wanted to know if I had cam acces on the back of the head! I may have to weld tabs and that's all good!
Numbchux
IIRC the DOHC ones don't have the place for it....but the SOHC ones might.

zukiru
it "could" work on an EJ25 you'd need to grind cam slots and make up an adaptor bracket. not something I want to try...
