edrach
As a few of you know I have my "nice" (as opposed to working) Brat up for sale. I'm having an issue with my insurance company since I really want it insured for full value whenever someone test drives it. Only way they will change that value is with a professional appraisal. Anyone know of a company (preferably Subaru savvy) that does that in Western Washington? What does one pay for an appraisal of this sorts?
SubPar
I don't know if this is the same Memory Lane that's here in Portland too, but... http://www.memorylaneappraisals.com/Contact.html It might not be a "classic", but I think it qualifies as a collector vehicle. $250 is kinda expensive. Reveeen
In these parts ANY car dealer (new, or used) is able to issue an appraisal for tax/insurance purposes. Cost can run from $25-$100, accuracy optional (real value is usually 1/2 appraisal value). You are a braver soul than I, I don't do test drives, you want a test drive, go for a rent-a-racer. SuperBrat
Stick with your price, just as good as a 401k, just keeps going up and up ED.

I'd have to be further out than Pluto to consider buying a car that I hadn't at least driven down the street without the tranny dropping out Steve
SubPar
A "test drive" with the potential buyer in the passenger's seat works. If they're serious about buying a nice Brat, they should understand.

I wouldn't consider buying a used vehicle that I hadn't driven. A test drive with the seller in the seat is expected and unless it's a real beater, I wouldn't ask for anything other than that. I understand that they are selling something of value to them so if they want to keep an eye on me while I test drive it then that's no problem at all
