wrxsubaru
I have a 92 legacy 5spd and the radiator fans wont turn on. I have checked the fuses and have replaced the temp sensor with no luck. Any ideas thanks.
wrxsubaru
No it does not come on with the AC button but the AC is not hooked. It died a couple years ago. Ill go try your idea. Thanks for the response!
Gloyale
Find the fan switch sensor (I think its in the radiator) rdisconnect it and with the car off jump the contacts (to avoid a spark) Turn the car on they should come on. The old GL and Loyales were this way, but Legacy is controled by the ECU. There is no Thermoswitch for the fan like the old ones. It would be a good idea to test the Coolant Temp Sensor though. Any ideas thanks.Did you replace the temp sensor with the brown plug? If not, you replaced the wrong one.
rverdoold
I thought you can test them by connecting the green T shape connectors under the dash (same as for analysing the ecu whilest driving) the fans should then run in intervals on/off/on/off ect. Legacy777
I thought you can test them by connecting the green T shape connectors under the dash (same as for analysing the ecu whilest driving) the fans should then run in intervals on/off/on/off ect. This is correct. With the green T diag connectors connected, the fans will cycle on and off.
wrxsubaru
Sorry its been a while ive been busy with school and work. Tomorrow i am going to work on the car. Yeah the sensor i replaced was the brown. I got the temp sensor from the dealer and they gave me some ideas on what could go wrong. Is there any common relay that could cause it? Cougar
I think each fan has its own relay. There may be a 'main fan' and 'sub fan' relay.
