Uberoo
Just wondering,If you mount a custum/steel/beefy bumper to the stock bumper mounts in the pretend frame that subarus have.Could you put tow hooks or D-rings on the bumper and would it be stout?Im not asking a question of how beefy the bumper would have to be,can the existing factory holes on the unibody frame withstand the force of pulling another vehicle out or getting pulled out?Provided you are not yanking the line with excessive throttle or whatnot. ezapar
I'd try to tie it into the tow hooks too.
Phizinza
I used to snatch, and get snatched a lot with my alloy bullbar on the old Brumby, that just used standard mounts, 4bolts. They are pretty tough for an old unibody
monstaru
i have been yanked , jerked and hit in my bumpers in the stock mounts and have had no issues.....besides bending bumpers.cheers, brian
chef_tim
I used 1" x 2" (I thnk), steel stock and with a bit of persuation it fit very nicely into the chanels. I then drilled out the original mounting holes and ran 5/8ths" (again, I think) bolts all the way through. I think the car would be pulled in half before the bumper pulled out. Just an example if you decide to go all the way with your bumper. Later, Tim
