tim davis
Hi all, I have a 82 brat which i am in the process of rebuilding. Engine and tranny are toast. I have a 93 sub wagon with the new 1,8 fuel injected and std tranny. Im looking too put the 93 into the 82. any thoughts on what Im gonna get into. I would appreciate all thoughts. Fuel inj is much better than carb. LOL Tx Tim
GeneralDisorder
It can and has been done - lots of custom fab work involved. You will have to use the EJ tranny, or have an adaptor made for it..... driveline will have to be made the right size for that..... custom engine and tranny mounts. Custom axles are one of the biggest things you'll have to do if you use the EJ trans. Big wiring mess too... GD

GeneralDisorder
That's true - I guess he could be talking about a loyale.... didn't think of that. If that's the case, then your swap will be easier. You need to tell us what model the 93 is..... GD
tim davis
Hi all My 93 is a LOYALE Tx Tim
GeneralDisorder
Ah! Well a Loyal is a horse of a completely different color. Do a search on here about EA82 swap into EA81 cars - lots of people have done it. And yes - it will bolt to the tranny - EA81 and EA82 are the same bell houseing. Still - for off-roading (if that's your intention), the EA81 is simpler and IMHO, the better choice. GD
