one eye
Scott I think you might know more about my car then I do:lol: , But here it goes. I bought an 86 2" SJR lifted Wagon from Scott back in April or so. any ways I am on the 3rd motor so far but I got it figured out now I have and EA81 in it. And I have 30x9.50x15's on it. I got the 235 on the 83 wagon. The last time out wheeling She did great, Never even got stuck, But I played it cool. I also took the Brat out @ the same time but It did fair as well. I blew the trans. out and had to replace it so I could go wheel that day. Changed it out in 4 hours!! here is the brat. Jeff

TeamCF
'83 GL 4x4 D/R wagon. 1" lift in back to make up for the weight of all the gear. Stock suspension adjusters cranked. Welded diff. (yup, I put it back in last minute before the last run) CB radio 505 Pug wheels with 26" mud/snows. (all terrains will come next) Custom downpipe back for maximum clearance. Heats up things and hits crossmembers but dosen't drag on terrain anymore. Cheap off-road lights. 2x4 cargo holder in back. Aux backup lights. Sand dune flag. Lot's of rocker panel dents. My Soob's story? I just like to wheel it. And that usually for me means I have to keep up with rigs that could use me as a speed bump. (nobody ever replies when I post up the TSF runs... So all I get to run with is Yotas & Jeeps, but it forces you to learn good lines fast or be humiliated) Aim one down the trail right though. And even a close to stocker like mine is capable of amazing things. One of the Jeepers I went with last time said "The subaru was more than impressive." Scott in Bellingham
Heres mine rockface walker valley Walker again same trip Jeep pulled me out of this Heres the story ,I hadnt took my white car out for a while so I evicted the mouse out of the glovebox along with his house of car stuffing, slipped in a fresh battery and fired it up, took it out at my place for a run, everything went well , then.... it died , check it all out and its a timing belt, well I only had like a week to fix it for the Walker Valley run , I didnt want to put time and money into the belts so I figured " EJ it " I had a EJ2.2 in the red car but had never got it all hooked up so we yanked both moters out and put it in the white car, I didnt want to deal with the computer so I put on the Ford disty I got from Brian and modified the manifold to except the weber , a bunch of USMB guys came by that Wed and we finished up and heard it run for the first time, I drove it to work 2 days and then went on the run sat,so we all meet up at the Joes at mt vernon, well I had fuel issues with a older pump under the hood so while everyone waited for me I installed a new electric pump under the car, then we hit the trail, by then the group had dispersed so we ended with 3 mini groups, I ended up going with a Black Jeep and thats it, we went up Express way, I watched the jeep brake a front hub, I needed a pull twice and got some body/light damage, all and all it was a great day, next time I hope we all stay together, the EJ22 was awesome and I ran a smaller 26" tire instead or the27" swampers, I love the tires/engine combo , 3-1/2 SJR prototype lift locked rear diff 26" retread Mudders on 14" pugs awesome for gearing Weber EJ22 CB lots of clearence modifications (dents)

crazylong127
Could you even turn that? Looks dang close. I had 30's on my brat stock, I couldn't make it through a drive through, the corners where to sharp:rolleyes: Jeff turning isn't too bad. never had power steering so it was always a little ruff. once you get moving it is fine. as it is(about to sawsza the front fenders) the only times it rubs is if i am making a left turn and hit a bump it will rub on the front drivers fender. the back rubs over big bumps if i hit them too hard, thats only because i have about 300 pounds of stuff in the back right now. when i took that weight out it gave me about another inch in the back. funny story-- so i took the subaru out to advance auto parts because i know everyone there. and showed them the car. as i was in there i saw 3 people take pics of my car with their phones!!! i saw one guy so i went out to talk to him and showed him the stock 13 tire and said, " i went from that to that" he didn't believe me so i showed him the cover of a haynes manual. he couldn't believe it!! Uberoo
83 Subaru GL -removed front fenders-replaced with garden edging so it wouldnt get pulled over as much. -26" tractor tires on redrilled 14x6 Mazda rims -welded rear diff -custom front end because it was bought with a front end collision. -scotchbrite air cleaner-soon will have proper aircleaner and have a snorkel -made it an "Ol' school baja" -4 walmart cheapies on top-the two at the edges are flood lamps, angled at 45(Ish)*.two middle lights are driving lights.lotsa light and visability at night. -stripped interior-no rear seat,no carpet,no headliner. best story-I went offroading with some friends of mine. They were in a fullsize dodge and a fullsize ford.I could easily go everywhere they could go in FWD with no problems.the dodge got stuck and I actually was able to pull it 6 ft before it found another hole and then the subie didnt weigh enough to get traction, still all 4 wheels turning was kinda neat...still though now when I go out I play with atvs, because if I get stuck a single guy on a 700CC ATV is enough to pull me out...found that out when on a later trip I flooded the coil and had to be towed out... http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n45/Uberoo/Subaru%20stuff/ I need to get some new pics... Hondasucks
I've had this beastie for a while, built it in 2002 out of a 2WD sedan, and a rusted out 4WD wagon. These pics were taken Labor Day of 02 up at Noonday (outside of Cottage Grove, Oregon) It hasn't seen mud in a while, I need to get it from where it's stored and get it running again. I want to put it on a Samurai frame with a 2.2 eventually...
