davebugs
Welcome. I suggest that you try the search feature for this one. There is even a bit of a current thread on a Knock sensor issue. Sometimes I strike out when searching but I'll bet you find a bunch of hits. You may also want to look at the repair manual here at USMB if you strike out on the thread searches. OB99W
On my 1999 Legacy automatic 2.5l, the knock sensor maybe bad. I have bought one but cannot find it even with a serivce book. Does anyone know where it might be?Stand at the front of the car, find the throttle and cruise control cables. Look between them, straight down, right behind the intake manifold runner for cylinder #4. Yes, that's it, way down there, probably hidden under a wiring harness. Now you know what the ":banghead: " is really for. Thanks for your help. Tony. You're welcome, and welcome to the forum.
