Looking for Subarus across the country...

Recommended Posts

Starting this saturday, i will flying from new york to san francisco.

there i will be working on a 97 legacy for about a week. i will then proceed to drive it across the country....

im thinking of a more northern route... so something liek through nevada then colorado.. and so on..

i plan on leaving between the 3rd-5th of august to begin the roadtrip.. i will probably be back in new york by the 9th or 10th..

if there are any subaru meets during that time anywhere... please post them here.. i would be glad to stop by as many as i can / and any subaru meet i can as i drive across the country

Thanks!

Your map is a Southern route. If you decide to come across I-90 drop me a PM and I'll get you a phone number. We are just off the interstate North of Sioux Falls and make a good pit/rest stop. Best of luck, how ever you go :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

make sure that your cooling is up to snuff. I just made the drive from Los Angeles to Phoenix. Is was in the 100's and there is a whole lot of nothing in between flagstaff and NM.

on a good note you will avoid the Rockies.

If you need assistance in Los Angeles area on those day give me a ring, granted you will be about 100 miles north of me so i might now be able to help out much.

Look on the members map at the top of this section to see who's around. Good luck w/your drive

I suspect the northern route through Utah/COlorado will be much more scenic than through New Mexico and Arizona.

that was the original plan actually. i JUST changed it... its still a general idea...

i figured id get to see all the rock formations and the grand canyon.. as well as cliff dwellings in new mexico..

anyone have any specific ideas as to what sites to see?

Thanks for all the great responses!

  • 2 weeks later...

I've done interstate 40 through needles. its not a bad drive.... flat and straight.... sure faster than donner pass on i-80 but nowhere near as scenic. on the plus side I was able to have the truck riding the governor at 65 the whole way versus 25 up the stinkin hill to like 8000 feet then compression brake all the way down. Easier in a car, but still hard on it.

I personally would go up to Sacramento and over 80 just because I like the scenery better and its summer.
