greenleg88
on my 97 legacy L Sedan, the rear view mirror is really loose. i constantly have to readjust it so i can see out the back window. anyone with past experience fixing the same problem? i was either just goign to take the ball and socket and put some glue in or something so it stiffens up.. or i dont really know. i was also considering just replacing it.. its so annoying Thanks for any ideas. SUBARU3
It can be tightened using a TORX screwdriver via the screw on the side of the body. Todd

forester2002s
I once fixed a loose ball and socket on my rear-view mirror, by diassembling it, and then coating the ball with a bit of liquid honey, and then reassembling. It worked a treat.
jreb10
I had the same problem on my 1998 Legacy L. There was a little piece that surrounded the ball that was broken into pieces. That is why the torx screw would not tighten it up. I did glue the pieces together as a short term fix. This worked until I ordered a new mirror. The new one was surprisingly cheap.
