kybishop
My right turn signal all the sudden started blinking really fast. On all my previous cars I simply replaced the flasher. Refering to the manual it says to contact Subaru as something may be wrong in the signal system. Any experience with this? This is on my 1986 EA82 wagon. 3eyedwagon
This may sound kinda silly, but did you check to see if you have a bulb out. I'm mostly into domestically made vehicles, and this is how they indicate that the vehicle has a bulb out. If it is only in one direction, that could most likely be your case. Turn your hazards on, and do a walk around.
The Dude Abides
on every vehicle ive ever owned if it blinks fast its either a bulb or a massive electrical problem. Hope for the bulb. Ben
kybishop
Funny thing, I had thought the very same thing right after I posted this. Maybe its a bulb out. I had just checked them all not too long ago. Sure enough, front right turn signal bulb is out. Thanks all.

beataru
needs blinker fluid http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=6 your headlight fluid is low, and for better performance you might want to get a 4 new piston return springs, you know, thats the thing that pushes the piston back up. I dont want to hijack this thread....
one eye
I got the same thing going on in my 83 brat, and I got a light out. In my 82 the light just stays on if a light goes out. Jeff
s'ko
on a serious note. On my BRAT when a turn signal goes out it doesn't blink. on my OBS, it blinks faster. BW
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
On my BRAT when a turn signal goes out it doesn't blink. on my OBS' date=' it blinks faster.[/color'] BW I Believe That is Because your Brat does not have a Digital Blink Control Box... Just the Analog Blinker. needs blinker fluid http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=6 ... ...I Remember that... baccaruda
I think that the signal blinks 2x fast if a front light is out, and stays on solid if a rear light is out. Don't know how they train it to do so...
6 Star
I am bringing up this old thread because I am having a problem. About a month ago I went from this (note LH turn signal): To this: The problem I am experiencing is that the left turn signals now blink rapidly after replacing the mikey-mouse-foglight-signal. Yes, both of them blink, none of them are burnt out. When I put the flashers on, they all blink evenly. When I signal right, the RH signals blink as they should. Just the LH signals blink like there is one out. What is causing this?
okie bill
When you mounted the left blinker did you make a good ground? Are the bulbs all the same? Bill
Loyale 2.7 Turbo
I am almost 99% Sure that the cause is Different Bulbs, let me Explain: Each bulb provides some Resistance to the Circuit, when a Bulb Blows out, it doesn't provide resistance at all, so the Blinker without its normal resistance in the Circuit will blink Faster. When Different kind of Bulbs are Mixed, each side might have different resistance values ( Ω ) so that is Why one side has Different Speed than the Other... ...unless you have wired the Ground to the Bulb's Positive and the Positive to the Bulb's Ground. I Kindly suggest you to check all those bulbs and change all the Mixed types with the Equal (Proper) ones. Kind Regards. 6 Star
The bulb that I put in looks like the one on the far left. (old style) To me it looked kinda small, but I didn't take off the other cover to see what size it had at the time. Hoping this is the problem, not that I have some weird electical glitch. I'll give this a look when it stops pouring outside.
