kimokalihi
I see a lot of people with WRX seats in legacys. I have a 90 Legacy Wagon and I found some seats from a 2003 WRX wagon for $300 in excellent condition. Will these fit my car? Are there any modifications that need to take place in order for them to fit? Is this a good deal? Thanks Kimo
SubPar
You may need to swap out the rails on the bottom of the seats, but they will fit. $300 is bit steep, but that's just my opinion.
jamal
yeah I got mine for $100 (fronts only). they'll sit about an inch higher at the lowest setting, and you can't swap rails.
kimokalihi
So do they bolt right in? Yeah it was 300 for the front and rear so it seemed like a decent deal. If they're in good shape. I'm not gonna buy them though. I need to locate a turbo 1st gen legacy first.
Setright
Yep, they bolt straight in, but as above, sit a little bit higher.

Legacy777
The main issue is the automatic seat belts. Here's some pics of them in my Legacy http://www.main.experiencetherave.com/subaru/images/legacywrxseats/ The ride height was actually very similar if not the same. The seats are a little wider. If I didn't have the auto belts, they'd be in there.
jamal
I just swapped the buckle. I did have to drill out a rivet but after that it fit on there and worked fine. The only problem was occasionally having to dig for the lap belt because I didn't stick on the plastic guide.

Also, make sure you swap the seatbelt retainers onto the WRX seats since your legacy belts won't lock onto the WRX retainers. Not a problem otherwise; rails fit just fine in the Legacy; I did our '91 that way and the seats are way more comfortable. I've seen fronts from a WRX go for anywhere from $100 to $300 or more. Frankly I wouldn't spend more than $200 unless they were absolutely perfect and exactly the right color match.

If I didn't have the auto belts, they'd be in there. I used to have the choker belts in my '91. Found a Subaru wrecking yard in Canada and bought a set of Canadian belts of the right color and trim. Installed and working fine, but a bit ugly since the new trim wouldn't fit over the space where the auto rail was; and the old trim wouldn't work either. I lived with the ugly and enjoyed the freedom of decent belts.
Legacy777
I've been trying to get manual belts for a long while. The stupid 90-91 tan interior is what foils me every time....

kimokalihi
Perhaps I will get my WRX seats if I ever locate a decent Turbo legacy sedan around here. I look every day. No luck so far. The one I almost bought the guy finally replied to me a week later and said he couldn't sell it anymore. Bummer.
