I see a lot of people with WRX seats in legacys. I have a 90 Legacy Wagon and I found some seats from a 2003 WRX wagon for $300 in excellent condition.

Will these fit my car? Are there any modifications that need to take place in order for them to fit?

Is this a good deal?

Thanks

Kimo

I just swapped the buckle. I did have to drill out a rivet but after that it fit on there and worked fine. The only problem was occasionally having to dig for the lap belt because I didn't stick on the plastic guide.

So do they bolt right in? Yeah it was 300 for the front and rear so it seemed like a decent deal. If they're in good shape. I'm not gonna buy them though. I need to locate a turbo 1st gen legacy first.
They will bolt right in although the Legacy only uses four of the 5 bolts that the WRX seats use; not a big deal. Also, make sure you swap the seatbelt retainers onto the WRX seats since your legacy belts won't lock onto the WRX retainers. Not a problem otherwise; rails fit just fine in the Legacy; I did our '91 that way and the seats are way more comfortable. I've seen fronts from a WRX go for anywhere from $100 to $300 or more. Frankly I wouldn't spend more than $200 unless they were absolutely perfect and exactly the right color match.

The main issue is the automatic seat belts.

Here's some pics of them in my Legacy

The ride height was actually very similar if not the same. The seats are a little wider. If I didn't have the auto belts, they'd be in there.

I used to have the choker belts in my '91. Found a Subaru wrecking yard in Canada and bought a set of Canadian belts of the right color and trim. Installed and working fine, but a bit ugly since the new trim wouldn't fit over the space where the auto rail was; and the old trim wouldn't work either. I lived with the ugly and enjoyed the freedom of decent belts.

I've been trying to get manual belts for a long while. The stupid 90-91 tan interior is what foils me every time....

Looks like a price drop on the $300 seats:
