The Beast I Drive Posted August 5, 2008 Share Posted August 5, 2008 Im in need of a good distributor on the Beast, it has an EA81 in it. I remember reading somewhere something about swapping the shaft from a EA81 disty and putting it in the body of an EA82 disty and utilizing the EA82 electronics. I have a practically new EA82 disty ( has like 500 miles) and a buch of bad EA81 units. From what I saw comparing them, looks like all that would have to happen would be swap the shaft and add a spacer and shim it till its right? and that only one of the 2 mounting tabs will be used. They are availible, but unless you have machining capabilities you won't have good luck installing them.
