i have an 1985 GL hatchback i purchased recently

it has 137,0000 miles

1.8 Overhead valve engine

4WD dual range 4-speed

now so far i am happy with the car

but as i climb hills getting ready to shift into the next gear, or maybe staying in that gear at 3000-3500 rpm i have a loss of power???

it bucks like riding a bull (sorry but i dont know how to explain)

it feels as if its at a loss of gas or air, or maybe the carb plate is closing and opening. the problem goes away by releasing the accel a little

for the most part it is avoidable i can feel when its going to happen and i just slow down, or build up speed to overtake the hill

any help would be appreciated

Yes, Fuel Filter... Also I Suggest to Check the Timing... My EA82 Wagon was Acting like That, I Changed Fuel & Air Filters... it Helped, but Moving the Time Forward a Li`l Bit, fixed that Problem Completely.

Good Luck! :burnout:

how do you check the timing

sorry i'm a noob???

i will be getting to the fuel filters soon $$$

changed the spark plugs to NGK from bosch:eek:

air filter was in bad shape, and pcv filter is dirty: ordered from Detroit
