dj3stripes
So my rear view mirror is a bit impotent. The slightest bump in the road will cause it to go totally flaccid. Is there anything that can be done about this? It's terribly annoying. I never knew if there was something i could inject into the ball joint to maybe give it that extra staying power? seriously though, any suggestions? Sure, finely crush a Viagra pill and pour the dust into the ball joint, that should keep it stiff.
johnceggleston
i unscrewed the torx screw and removed the clamp piece that holds the ball. i found a broken piece of 'spring' metal designed to keep pressure on the ball. i threw that away and stuck in a piece of folded paper. it may take a couple of trys to get the right tension. it doesn't take much. or you can but a replacement mirror. Flowmastered87GL
I would just get a replacement mirror from a u-pull it yard.... fish around in the cars feeling the mirrors and pull the one that feels the tightest.
dj3stripes
in frustration i pulled down on the mirror and it popped out of the clamp attached to the ceiling of the car. I then realized that the starbit screw in there applied tension on the ball joint. re-mounted and walah.
