92 Leg, awd to 2wd,adding the fuse

Recommended Posts

Drive 60 miles roundtrip to work, all about the mileage. Just changing the way I drive increased from 24mpg to 30mpg. What is the implication of adding the fuse to change to 2wd. Improve mileage? destroy something? Nothing? 92 Leg s/w with ej2.2.

Thanks,

Tedder

Across several sites, consensus seems to be you'll gain bupkis.

Now adding an air dam, that might get you 2-3 mpg easy.

Youll burn out the solenoid and have to spend far more in repair bills then you would ever make up in gasoline savings, if any.

Unless your ripping the rear drive system out of the car, nothing will change. You have done the best thing you possibly can already.

Rain X is stuff you spray on your windshield and then buff it with a towel and it makes water slide off your windshield extremely easily. It's pretty cool at first but then when it's barely raining your get a mist effect on your windshield which makes it hard to see and you have to use your wipers a lot when it's barely raining. When you're going down the freeway though, there's pretty much no need for wipers because the wind will blow the rain right off.

I actually saw a guy on the civic forum that said he doesn't even have wipers on his car. He just uses rain X. That's dangerous but he said that's how he rolls.
