pearlm30
So I got this 4EAT Trany out of a 98 Forester from the junk yard. I pulled the torque converter out, but the TC shaft also came out with it and looked like the shaft was held to TC by a snap ring??? Is this how it is suppose to be??? So when its time to seat the TC, do I fit the shaft on to the TC first and then install them back to trany??? Please help
bheinen74
yes there is a clip that is correct. reattach the same way pull shaft out slightly, lck the TC onto shaft with clip, make sure you get the TC in place. It should set almost flush with bell housing front. It takes lots of practice to get it fully correct.
