5 lug and Rear disc conversion

Recommended Posts

Trying to put to gether a shoping list for both a rear disc conversion and a five lug swap

Off the top of my head for the rear disc swap i will need the disc, calipers, mounting for the calipers, and brake lines is there more?

For the 5 lug i'm thinking that i will need the hole rear end, as for the front should i take the hole thing to or do all i need is the 5 lugs and control arms

what else is needed?

The same things you need for a rear 5 lug are the same things you need for a rear disk swap.

Backing plate

Rotor w/hub

Caliper

I pretty much break it all down here:

Thats the 4 lug rear disc swap. However, the same applies for 5 lug, just replace with XT6 parts.

For the 5 lug at the front, impreza stuff fits if you replace the top mount on the strut. All you need from an XT-6 at that point is the lower control arm, both sides.

The advantage of using impreza struts and hubs is that you get a camber adjust that the XT-6 did not have.

You have to use impreza Fwd axles, but its worth it (these axles fit the D/R tranny, for the turbo tranny the regular Awd axles should work)

my '92 legacy tophats fit fine on my loyale....

also, with EJ front suspension, you get better brake and suspension options. although you loose the front parking brake (you can convert to the rear. I have a write-up in the USRM about using Nissan rear calipers).
