rgaff_77 Posted January 8, 2004 Share Posted January 8, 2004 I have a 88 GL 4WD auto wagon with the 3.9 gear. A while back, I was driving it around and I lost third gear, but speedo was still working fine. We replaced the governor shaft, now the car shifts fine, but the speedo doesn't work. I checked both ends of the cable, and the one end is locked into the instrument cluster and the other end is still tight in the tranny. Any suggestions? I am going to convert it to either a 4 sp d/r or 5 sp d/r pretty soon, but would still like to get it fixed so I have a good 4x4 tranny laying around.
