The Beast I Drive
If it was carbed, yes.

Scott in Bellingham
y fi is better. why? I have a turbo mpfi car with the wrong comp and wiring and I have a good EA82 SPFI engine
Numbchux
yea, the carbed ones will, but not terribly well. if you go that route, don't get a stock carb. I had an '85 with a feedback carb, blew the fuse for the ECU (and didn't figure it out for a couple days....). it still ran, but extremely rich, had no power at all. The Beast I Drive
get a Hitachi distributor from a carbed EA82 and put a Weber on a carbed manifold and your all set.
Scott in Bellingham
get a Hitachi distributor from a carbed EA82 and put a Weber on a carbed manifold and your all set. so the carbed EA82 has a stand alone disty that takes no comp? Rollie715
Scott, The EA82 I got from Japan had a Carb and Disty on it. They may be still lying around the shop somewhere. Rollie
The Beast I Drive
so the carbed EA82 has a stand alone disty that takes no comp? Yep. Its about as simple as it gets.
Snowman
Yeah, you can go from SPFI to carbed or vice versa no problem. I would recommend getting the stuff from a junkyard or parts car to convert to SPFI. It's a long day's worth of electrical work, but not that hard. General Disorder and myself have compiled manuals on converting from carb to SPFI that explain everything you need to do to make it run. SPFI > carb
Scott in Bellingham
Scott, The EA82 I got from Japan had a Carb and Disty on it. They may be still lying around the shop somewhere. Rollie your right I found one tonight , I think Ill put the EA82 with carb into the turbo car and sell the turbo, other then trying to get it to run right , then rework the rear section for massive flex:)
