88'ScoobyXt6
Hi everyone im new here and i happened to pick up a 88' xt6 2.7l h6 i love the car to death but am having trouble with it because the previous owner let it sit in their driveway for about 2 years and never drove it again, the front shocks leak like a siv (air bag shocks all the way around) and the right side window does not work. other than that its a piece of artwork... so to speak i was just wondering, being a so to speak newbie to the world of subaru, if anyone would have any ideas on what to do about the front shocks im think about replacing them. we have tried nitrogen but they still leak. and without air in them it rides like a tank lol. just wondering what some other subaru fanatics would suggest me do. cant wait for replies and thanks -Stuart Edited October 3, 2008 by 88'ScoobyXt6

idosubaru
welcome to subaru's, XT6's, USMB..and hopefully XT6 site. lancaster, PA? there's a number of members around that general area. i'm from Maryland, just below Gettysburg. edit: to bad most of the postings on that site are over a year old =/ thanks anyways though hhmm?? ha ha!! that's true of every forum!?!?! "most" posts on this forum are over a year old..and the next forum...and the next.... maybe you just did a search, pulled up old posts and never actually saw the "true" forum? like Rob said, you should check out the XT6 site. there's a thread about how to recondition your air struts and the air suspension in general. but your best bet is really going to be to convert to coil over struts anyway. the air suspension system is very flaky and difficult to work with, and expensive. torxxx
buy a set of 90-94 legacy struts and use your top hats. 80-100 dollars a strut. Window problem in XT6's.. lol I had the same problem make sure the switch is getting power, and check the wires between the a pillar and the door they like to break there
