f0t0grafer
I have a 92 legacy 5sp manual, that after putting a clutch in, seems to have developed a bit of an attitude about 4th gear. It will stay in under load, and it will stay in during deceleration, but whenever there is a transfer from load to coast, or deceleration to coast, it slips out. I say slip because it's not your typical "pop" that I have experienced with other cars. It's a gentle process. Now I do notice that the shifter is moving a bit more than it used to when you accelerate or decelerate. Step on the gas and the shift knob moves about an inch, decelerate, and its the same in the other direction. My best guess would be the torsion brace, and / or the transaxle mounts. Any help? suggestions? Confirmation? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.. JB brynerj@gmail.com
Legacy777
I'd check the transmission and engine mounts, as well as the shifter bushings.
