Twitch de la Brat
Anybody have any references to anyone that makes or distributes perfomance parts for the EA81 engine? For example, forged pistons, racing quality gaskets, seals and rings, high perf lifters, double barrel carb, anything to make my little brat a little higher quality. Any help is most appreciated. 4x4_Welder
Let me go peel the stickers off my Fel-Pro kit and write racing on the box- Not really any need for that sort of stuff, at least without addressing the fact that EA81 heads don't flow well. Then more air coming in, more exhaust going out, and by the time you're done you still aren't stressing the factory designed internals.

Jerry DeMoss
Actually there is quite a bit you can do depending on what you want to spend. Check out the Ram performance website. They make stuff for people using the ea81 in small aircraft and I am pretty sure you will find what you are looking for there.
The Beast I Drive
The only problem when building a high output EA81 is cost, RAM engines are not cheap in any way. Nothing designed to go in aircraft is cheap, But at least you can expect high quality. -Bill
SubPar
For the cost of building a high performance EA81, you could do a EJ22 or Ej22t swap, and come out with more HP, and the reliability of FI.
hatchsub
u can fuel inject an EA81 with ease. Probably a bit more reliable than a EJ22 cause no timing belts. But if you want power yea EA81 would cost way more than its worth. Reliability is what the EA81 is known for not power.
