JimmyJam
It happens no matter what AC/Defrost setting I put it on and if the engine is up to operating temp or not. What would cause this? The AC was working well in the summer. The radiator fans turn on with it too, not sure if that is normal. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Bserk
Classic 'low charge' condition. You may have developed a larger leak, or maybe you were just on the verge of having enough refrigerant to operate well in the summer. If you are lucky a recharge will make everything good. (this is all based on general car stuff, if there is Subie specific stuff at work here, please wait for one of the Subie gods- lol)
Rooster2
same thought as previous poster..........you are low on A/C refrigerant. Add some refrigerant, if that leaks out quickly, then it is time to find the source of the leak.

JimmyJam
Thanks Guys. Just wanted to confirm. It still does get ice cold when the AC is turned on for those brief seconds. Could this mean it is a minor leak because there still is refrigerant in there?
nipper
Yes but the more you use it the more it will leak out untill there is this huge hole in the ozone layer and it will be ALL YOUR FAULT! Just kidding, well about the hole. nipper
